WHY I cannot recommend KEH PHOTO for used Cameras & Lenses anymore. Many reasons

I've bought dozens of items from KEH over the years, and generally not had any problems. Had to return a few items, but often they were better than described.
HOWEVER, my feeling is that they are not as good as they were a few years ago.
I just bought a Sony A7RII from them. When it arrived I discovered there was no strap, and I hadn't even thought about that. Looked through my junk box of straps and didn't find one that would fit, so I went back to KEH and bought an original Sony strap for $15. Wouldn't have been a problem at all really, if I'd thought of it at the beginning.
But it means that they DID take the time to have someone take the original strap off the camera, which is fussy and time consuming.

And they seem to have gotten more expensive. Turns out that if I had waited just a week, I could have gotten a new one for only $100 or $150 more than I paid.

And, no, I've never gotten a buy offer from them that was acceptable, and I'm not looking for top dollar, just maybe 50% of what they sell the same item for.

You have some reasonable concerns. I just deal with Company X until they give me a reason NOT TO. KEH hasn't done that to me yet. I've not got burned. If I'm buying a lens from them, and says "No Caps" – I'm buying the caps with the lens and telling them to put them on the piece before shipping.

If time is an issue, you'd pay more to buy a new product with no problems and 0 shutter count. I bet a lot of people are enthusiasts buying from KEH.

Referring to KEH or any other company for that matter as "Lackey's" one is rude and tone deaf. Doing it multiple times is shitty, elitist, and a way of life gives YOU a black eye. It also gets you unsubscribed since there are plenty of other Karen's I could watch should i decide to.

KEH is great to buy used gear from, however the definitely low ball you if you’re selling gear to them. I’d say you’re better off to sell on Ebay instead. I had a lens in perfect condition, with original box to boot. They wanted to give me WAY less than it’s value…probably less than half of what I saw them selling for on KEH. And they take FOREVER to get back to you.

I live in Atlanta … the home of KEH and have done business with KEH professionally since the late 1970's at their person to person counter as well as on line and E-bay. i've never had a single issue after having had over 100 transactions with them. They're prices very fair and competitive and their service is top notch and first rate. You get what you pay for and if not they will take care of you and warranty the equipment for up to 6 months on most items they offer for sale. I would highly recommend them for weekend warriors and semi-pros and pros alike.

Nonsense! I've dealt with KEH for over 15 years and never have been disappointed in purchase of Leica, Nikon and Hasselblad. Your evidence is anecdotal at best.

I have bought from KEH dozens of times. I returned one camera that was the wrong model. Almost everything I have gotten from them has been better than described.

Well, that was thoroughly incoherent LOL could you contradict your argument and then repeat it any more times? almost thirteen and half minutes that could have taken 2 minutes. You sound like a bitter teenage girl that's just pissed off that you didn't get your way and you are trying to badmouth KEH over it. I've bought a lot of gear from KEH and never to date have I had to return anything it's always showed up better than the rating or on par. Most of the Bargain items would sell as EX+++++++ from all those Japanese sellers on Ebay. I think there are fungus cooties in your moms basement there and they are effecting your brain.

Folks, it is not important to emphasize the amount/percentage of "good" products when evaluating service or production. it is a percentage of "bad" samples which meters.

I bought a camera from roberts on ebay and it was in mint condition although described as "used".
I bought a camera from KEH described as " bargain" and it was "ugly". I contacted them and although they replied immediately promising to look into it, I'm still waiting, 2 weeks now, emails getting ignored. KEH, never again….

This guy is full of crap trying to get ad revenue on a 13 minute pointless rant. KEH grades conservatively, they understand humans make mistakes, which is why everything, unless its being sold AI (as is), has a warranty on it. and even so, less than 1% of returns ACTUALLY have problems with them.
