Didn't expect the praise and criticism targets. I would have thought that the fact that one can easily hold the phone incorrectly and end up taking an unwanted screenshot, would be most annoying. I find the battery drains a bit quickly for my comfort, but I'm getting used to it, as I shall explain. Love the fast 'warp' charging of course. But then the battery management system actually stops the charging for a while, which you can override, but you know you're potentially shortening the life of the battery, through excessive heat build up. One thing I will say about the battery percentage indicator is that it seems a lot more linear than any phone I've used in the past. Use the phone lightly for 5 minutes and 100% drops away, whereas some phones resolutely stay at 100%, but then fall away alarmingly once the drain percents set in. The Nord feels like it really has 40% battery life left when it says it does.
The camera is waaay better than my last phone – the tight person's Galaxy Note – an LG Stylus/Stylo 3 – reasonable/good phone for its purpose, with a stylus, but a truly lousy camera, that takes 3+ pics just to get a focused snap. Even 2nd gen Samsung Galaxies, which have lower resolution have way less trouble capturing an image crisply. So, if you're used to a top of the line camera, you wouldn't rave about the Nord camera, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be insulted either. As for the 4K videoing, it's not bad at all. Super-sharp and takes remarkably little time to focus on what I want it to, but just bear in mind what I had previously, and that was 1080HD. I got the Nord Blue Marble version with 8Gb/128Gb storage for £379 direct from OnePlus [nice box]. It can be had for £339 with a grey back, but I'm sooo worn out of grey. Oh and oddly, the speaker – it goes quite loud and is surprisingly full sounding given its tiny size. I don't expect the full orchestra from a phone speaker anyway. Mounted on the bottom the phone, it can be laid flat on a surface in use for video watching or speaker phone chats without muffling away the sound. And 5G when it gets here, so I'm quite pleased overall.

I got the OnePlus 8 Pro two months later after release. Since, then I've had minor problems that with time became bigger. I have a lot freezing and screen sensitivity problems. Also, the phone came scratched and have developed water marks inside the screen. I contacted OnePlus various times and they made me hard reset my phone to fix the issue. I did and the problems seem to get worse. Now they're ignoring my emails and I have a $1,000 phone that doesn't work properly. This is so frustrating when you spend this much money for something that doesn't work right. There's also a useless camera that doesn't do much. I wish I would've just went with a different manufacturer. This will be my last OnePlus phone. I highly not recommend this phone unless you want to throw $1,000 in the trash… IM SO FRUSTRATED WITH THIS COMPANY. Stay away from this company.
