I have Xs model and when press to start and stop filming you can always hear beep sound.Got the same problem when I was using Firefly 8.Moreover in this Xs camera buttons are so hard for some reason. You must keep camera with both hands to get horizon leveled while switching on and off. EV is bit dark in 0.0 position on sunny day, underexposed.Got room for some improvements in next firmware, maybe.

I am looking for a case for one of these cameras, the ones from Ali express don't ship with a case and the one from Hawkeye costs over 50$ more for the case, can you recommend a aftermarket case please?

Please your opinion… I have been using an unexpensive Firefly 8S for a few years, and I am VERY happy with image quality but it has NO stabilitation at 4K and the audio really sucks (I use a gimbal but it's not always possibile and it's not the perfect anyway).
A few days ago I bought (at a very good price) a brand new Gopro Hero8 Black, and I have compared it to the Firefly: the Gopro has amazing stabilitation, very good audio and performs better in backlight (less flare and less lost of contrass), BUT – incredibly – worse image quality in terms of color reproduction, dinamic range, DETAIL and SHARPNESS !!
The Gopro clips are over-saturated, over-contrasted and with a sense of FAKE sharpness obtained just by over-contrasting and over-sharpening the videos.
Using the flat profile can help to obtain better colors and contrast (but with a lot of work in post-production) but very little can be done with the lack of definition, so I am thinking to return it.
You have tested many cameras, wich one would you recommend for 4K ? The image quality (details, color, appropriate contrast and dinamic range) is the most important aspect for me.
    Thank you !!

The X is quite compelling, but would have to be closer to $120 to really make it a deal. At the current price you could get a GoPro 7 for that much.

Alex, do you have any plans to review a ThiEYE T5 Pro? I am not sure how long it has been out, but it does 4K/30 with EIS plus 4K/60 video without stabilization.

I picked up a ThiEYE T5e two months ago on clearance from Amazon for $36 (at that price, how could I go wrong??) and have been really happy with it. Recently I’ve gone back and watched a bunch of other ThiEYE reviews with video samples, and that brand really was at the top of the GO-Pro clone list 2-3 years ago, but they’ve been very quiet since around 2018. I guess the easier-to-pronounce, more-Japanese-sounding and less goofy-Chinese-sounding Akaso has taken a bunch of market share from companies like ThiEYE and Gitup.

Would you recommend getting the Vantop Moment 6s for making YouTube videos or spend more money for a GoPro? How different is it from the Hero7? thx
